Fitting in. He never once felt the luxury of that. Never once. Not one time he was accepted. Not even from his own parents. He did not wish to be born. He did not wish for his life, yet there he was. Yet he is alive. Looking up towards the dark empty sky, he blinks a tear away.

Except for one person. One person. The person who is loved by all. The precious gem of the family. The precious being, praised by others. Not that he wished to be like her, never had he felt jealous of her. Not one bit. Only he wanted to be accepted. At least by his parents.

Somehow a question played in his mind over and over. Why is he not accepted. Why is that people preferred her than him? He was complete. He was perfect. He at least had a voice. Looking down beside him, the little figure lying peacefully, cuddling close to him. “I wish that you could talk, princess.” He whispered to the silent night.

The little girl shifted a little as she opened her eyes looking up at her brother. “Kei-chan.” The word squeaked from her mouth. He was not sure was it a dream or was it real. He did not mind. At least he had the luxury of hearing her.

Her voice never reappears again the night after. Not again. Never again. Though he wondered was it real what he heard. Was it a dream. The question runs through his mind over and over.

She was not born mute. It was an accident. How he wished he could have been protecting her. How he wish it was him instead. Yet it was her. Yet he was not there. He was not sure himself what had happened. He was not sure himself what had been the reason for her vocal cord to stop working. There was no injury.

“Because my voice is sacred and only nii-can can hear them.” She whispered to him one night. That night he knew, he was not alone after all. He had her.
